Because of hydrogen bonding, alcohols tend to have higher boiling points than comparable hydrocarbons and ethers. The boiling point of the alcohol Ethanol is 78.29 °C, compared to 69 °C for the hydrocarbon Hexane (a common constituents of gasoline), and 34.6 °C for Diethyl ether. All simple alcohols are miscible in organic solvents. This hydrogen bonding means that alcohols can be used as protic solvents.

Siden det står at kokepunktet for Etanol er 78,29 °C skal du uansett ikke brenne så varmt. Hvis du gjør det mister du jo hele meningen med brenninga.. Hvordan brenneapparat bruker du? Hvis du bruker spiralbrenner er det viktig at det kun drypper i enden av spiralen og at det ikke kommer gass ut. Det som drypper skal kun være H20.
Merk at dette er kunnskaper jeg har lest meg til, og jeg har ingen praktisk erfaring med brenning. Jeg er jo bare 16..
