4 hardcore channels, SexviewTV, Ultra Blue, SCT and XXL are all to move from the Viaccess encryption system to Viaccess II.
As yet none of the channels have a delivery date from France Telecom for the new Viaccess II cards but they do know that they will have to swap the old cards for these new cards – entailing a host of administration work for British dealers. We believe all the channels (plus the French TPS package and the Scandinavian Viasat) will have moved from Viaccess to Viaccess II by the end of February next year.
So, the channels will need to swap their old cards and the first to signal the move was Ultra Blue on Friday. They are now streaming information onscreen that they will stop in Viaccess on the 31st of January and will need to have swapped the old cards out by that date. However they have not yet received the new cards and that date, according to our sources, is not set in concrete. The other channels will do the same but we have no dates from them at all at present other than they will do it by the end of February.........
