USPS Package Intercept® service is available only for domestic shipments sent by Priority Mail Express™, Priority Mail®, First-Class Mail®, First-Class Package Service™, Parcel Select®, USPS Retail Ground™ and Package Services.

Only packages, letters, and flats with a tracking barcode can be intercepted.

Packages should measure no more than 108 inches in length and girth combined.

USPS Package Intercept® is not available for nonmailable items or an item that has surface-only transportation markings, such as Label 127, Surface Mail Only, or bears other hazardous materials markings, such as Consumer Commodity ORM-D.

The USPS Package Intercept fee applies for all requests.

All intercepted items are redirected as Priority Mail and pay the Priority Mail postage, except when the item was originally sent using Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail, or First-Class Mail.

Shipments destined for APO/FPO/DPO addresses are not eligible for USPS Package Intercept®

Standard Mail® and Periodical mail classes are ineligible for Package Intercept.
