No Evidence Russia Was Behind Nord Stream Sabotage
After months of investigations into the sabotage of the Nord Stream natural gas pipelines that connect Russia to Germany, no evidence has been found linking Russia to the attack, The Washington Post reported on Wednesday, citing interviews with 23 diplomats and intelligence officials from nine different countries.
“There is no evidence at this point that Russia was behind the sabotage,” one European official said. Some Western officials were quick to blame Russia for the September attacks, but the report said some officials now say Russia is not to blame. [...
The Post report recognized that Russia had little motive for the sabotage. “The rationale that it was Russia [that attacked the pipelines] never made sense to me,” one European official said. A handful of officials said they regretted how quickly many in the West were to put the blame on Moscow.
Germany Open to Theories That a Western Country Attacked Nord Stream Pipelines
The Times of London reported Thursday that Germany is “open” to theories that a Western country attacked the Nord Stream pipelines in an attempt to blame the incident on Russia.
The Times report reads: “The German investigation is thought to have made little progress so far, with officials having yet to uncover any compelling evidence. However, The Times understands that they remain open to theories that a western state carried out the bombing with the aim of blaming it on Russia.”

Nå har dessuten tungvekteren i gravejournalistikk Seymour Hersh publisert en artikkel hvor en anonym kilde, angivelig med kjennskap til prosessen, i detalj beskriver hvordan USA, i samarbeid med Norge (!), står bak sprengningene.

Hvis dette stemmer, er det - ikke minst for Norges vedkommende - en skandale av dimensjoner, og en krigshandling, ikke bare mot Russland, men også mot Europa og spesielt Tyskland. Norske og amerikanske myndigheter benekter det, selvfølgelig. Jeg håper flere journalister, ikke minst norske, nå kommer på banen for å gjøre seriøst journalistisk arbeid og grave i disse påstandene.
