i had/have the same problem with my ps3 controller(wich motioninjoy emulates to 360 controller for easy settings) but solved it by starting bf4-x86.exe instead of bf4.exe (wich is normally started)

i think it has something to do with a driver issue or direct x (direct input)

hope this works for other people too

ps it doesn't change the in game icons or weapon loadout problem but the main game is playable this way
