No. In fact most species of Papaver and all other genera in the poppy family (Papaveraceae) do not make opium. The opium poppy, Papaver somniferum, is easy to spot -- the leaves are a peculiar grey-green and extend well up the stem of the plant, like this, and are not "furry":
